Root & Rein @ BellaSoul Farm is part of something much bigger than one farm in East Tennessee.
I am a Certified Equine Assisted Learning Facilitator through Equine Connection – The Academy of Equine Assisted Learning, an internationally recognized certification program with facilitators serving communities across North America, Australia, New Zealand, Europe, and beyond. From Tennessee to Canada to Australia—and around the globe—we are united by one mission: partnering with horses to help people discover resilience, confidence, authentic leadership, emotional awareness, and personal growth.
Equine-Assisted Learning is far more than simply spending time with horses. It is a professional, experiential learning model built on structured curriculum, continuing education, ethical standards, measurable objectives, and a growing body of research supporting experiential learning and the human-horse connection.
One of the greatest gifts of becoming certified has been joining an incredible international community. Recently, one of our Equine Connection instructors, Jane Hemingway-Mohr from Australia, was featured in the Australian Institute of Company Directors Magazine for her work in leadership development. Congratulations, Jane! Your recognition reflects not only your dedication, but also the growing impact of Equine-Assisted Learning around the world.
Being part of this global community also shaped one of the biggest decisions I've made.
As I learned from facilitators across the world and witnessed the profound impact this work has on individuals, families, and communities, I realized Root & Rein was meant to be more than a business. It was meant to be a mission.
That realization is what led me to establish Root & Rein Equine Learning Center as a nonprofit organization.
My hope is that financial hardship is never the reason someone misses the opportunity to experience the lessons horses have to offer. Through scholarships, community partnerships, and the generosity of supporters, I want this work to be accessible to veterans, individuals in recovery, women in transition, youth, families, caregivers, community organizations, and anyone seeking healing and personal growth.
Whether a facilitator is serving clients in Tennessee, Canada, Australia, or anywhere else in the world, the language of the horse is universal. Horses don't care about our titles, careers, income, or past. They respond to authenticity. They teach us to slow down, communicate honestly, establish healthy boundaries, and reconnect with who we truly are.
I am deeply honored to be part of this global network of certified facilitators who believe horses are not tools to be used, but partners and teachers to be respected.
From Tennessee... to Canada... to Australia... and all around the globe, horses are quietly changing lives.
I'm incredibly grateful to be part of that journey and to bring that same internationally recognized work home to the people and horses of BellaSoul Farm.
